Ignite Team Leaders

The Ignite program is a unique opportunity for incoming students to jump-start their leadership journey at UT. Ignite participants learn UT traditions, discover their leadership potential, and meet other new students and student leaders.

Ignite Team Leaders have the opportunity to educate incoming students about campus leadership and service opportunities and help them make a successfully transition into the collegiate environment. Team Leaders provide a meaningful mentoring relationship while helping new students learn what it means to be a Volunteer.

In 2017, TLs will work with one specific type of Ignite:

  • Ignite Knox: July 25-28
  • Ignite Leadership Summit: June 2-4 & August 18-20
  • Ignite Outdoors: June 13-17 & June 20-24
  • Ignite Serves: August 14-17

Student Directors

Ignite Student Directors have the opportunity not only to serve as mentors to Team Leaders, but also to assist in teaching the training course and work behind the scenes with all program logistics.

The responsibilities and time commitments for each program’s Student Director are different, so be sure to review the specific program position description. The Student Director position is incredibly competitive, but also exceptionally rewarding. Applicants should ensure they meet the minimum qualifications and are able to fulfill the responsibilities of the position before applying.
