Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropy in the country. UT's Dance Marathon raises money for East Tennessee Children's Hospital and ends the year with a 14 hour celebration of life. Since 1995, UT students have raised more than $1 million for children's cancer research making DM the largest student-run event that benefits East Tennessee Children's Hospital. UT's Dance Marathon lasts from 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb 23, 2013 in the Tennessee Recreational Center for Students (TRECS) on campus. Check-in for participants starts at 8 p.m.
The goal of Dance Marathon is to raise money for the patients of the Hematology and Oncology unit of East Tennessee Children's Hospital, while providing a fun-filled and heart felt event that involves UT's best and brightest students as well as community members. DM seeks to make a difference in the lives of the thousands of children undergoing treatment for both cancer and blood-related disorders.
