Spark is a two-day overnight retreat designed to engage first-year students who are interested in getting involved on campus, developing as a leader and networking with current student leaders from across campus. Spark is a collaborative effort in the name of student leadership, retention, and engagement.
Various offices have partnered with the Center for Leadership and Service for the program, including the Center for Student Engagement, Office of Multicultural Student Life, University Housing, Sorority and Fraternity Life, Center for Career Development, Student Government Association, and Student Success Center.
The 2016 Spark Retreat will take place October 21-23 (by-weekend for football) at Coker Creek Village in Tellico, Plains, Tennessee.
Why should I attend Spark?
As part of Spark, participants will accomplish the following:
- Discover an increased sense of pride and community at the University of Tennessee
- Describe their personal leadership style and strengths
- Identify connections made with student leaders and staff from across campus
- Demonstrate high levels of involvement
