The Center for Leadership and Service sponsors monthly service opportunities provided in partnership with various campus departments and community agencies. On these days, students have the chance to network and interact with students, community members, and staff, while engaging in meaningful service and addressing community needs. Students are provided with transportation and are given an organized opportunity to serve the local community for an afternoon.These organized days of service are led by a student leader who engages the participants in a meaningful reflection to wrap up the afternoon.

JANUARY – MLK DAY OF SERVICE
Our 2018 MLK Day of Service on Saturday January 13th was a huge success! .

**Please note there is no charge to register, although not attending the event in its entirety, including leaving early, will result in a $25 non-negotiable program fee. Cancellations CANNOT be accepted.

APRIL – I Heart UT Week VOLServe
For the month of April, we will be offering THREE separate ways you can give back to the Knoxville community!
On Saturday April 7th the Office of Sustainability will be hosting Sustainability Day of Service. For this day, students will be taking part in a river clean up as part of River Rescue that happens across the city of Knoxville. The Office of Sustainability will be meeting in the S7 parking lot on campus (off of Cumberland Ave and Estabrook Rd) at 10:00 AM and wrapping up around 2:00 PM.

In conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Center for Leadership and Service is partnering with the Center for Health Education and Wellness to do a clothing drive to support the Sexual Assault Center of East Tennessee. The CLS and CHEW will have tables on Ped Walkway from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM to collect items like t-shirts, underwear, socks, and shorts/yoga pants that go directly to survivors of sexual assault. Please join us on Friday April 13th anytime from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM and donate your items!
*All items donated to the clothing drive must be NEW*
For our April VOLServe we will be partnering with Alumni to offer a day of service as part of I Heart UT Week. Volunteers can expect to stay on campus and work with a couple different partners like UT Gardens or UT Recycling. This event will take place on Tuesday April 24th, 1:00-4:00 PM.

Every VOLServe day we serve alongside different agencies and the needs of those agencies change. A typical schedule for VOLServe is below.
- 1:45-2:15 PM: Student check-in
- 2:15-2:20 PM: Depart for service
- 2:15-2:45 PM: Travel to service site
- 2:45-4:30 PM :Service occurs
- 4:30-5:00 PM: Travel back to UT
PLEASE NOTE: As reflected on the registration forms, please remember that while these events are offered free of charge, failure to attend a day of service after registering will result in a $10 hold being placed on your student account to account for expenses incurred in your absence.
